camelot. the uk national lottery operator announced a change to the lottery effective from october 2015. if it wasnt bad enough they doubled the price of a lottery ticket last year or whenever it was they have now shattered any hope i have of hitting the jackpot by increasing the number of balls from 49 up to 59. this means the odds of winning the jackpot have god damn near enough tripled from 14 million to 1 up to a whopping 45 million to 1. they say there will be bigger jackpots as they are more likely to roll over. no shit sherlock. but the problem is they regularly roll over in its current format with 49 balls. so why stretch the odds of anybody hitting the jackpot from a choice of 6 balls from 59 available ones. is a 2 or 4 million pound jackpot not enough of a jackpot nowadays. being the diplomat i am camelot state that if you get two numbers you will get a free go on the next lottery draw. whoopy do. i cannot contain my excitement. my unrealistic and selfish hopes of winning the jackpot now have become unrealistically unrealistic hopes of ever winning. my hunch is and its only a hunch is that the only true winner will be camelot. because if people are less likely to win a jackpot that jackpot has to sit in a safe place where it can gather interest until somebody eventually wins it. and interest on several million quid is quite significant. am i alone in this thought?
rant over.
